About UCU

UCU is the largest trade union and professional association and the recognised trade union for academics, lecturers, trainers, researchers and academic-related staff working at UeL. With 120,000 members nationally,  UCU is the voice of UK professionals in Further and Higher Education.

What does UCU at UeL do?

We negotiate with the employers on behalf of UCU members, for example on conditions of service. We provide advice and support for fellow members. We keep members informed and channel local opinion into the national union on major concerns such as staff pensions.

Who can join UCU?

UCU represents full-time, part-time and hourly-paid; permanent and fixed-term staff as well as postgraduate research students.
