Welcome to the new semester and apologies for the delay in communicating with you. To make up for this please find attached our latest newsletter full of important news and giving dates of meetings for the rest of the year including the AGM. As you will see from the newsletter you will shortly receive, by email, details of the workload model that has resulted from the lengthy discussions with management. This will be sent to you by UCU National and you will have an opportunity to accept or reject the model also by email.
Therefore, as a matter of some urgency, can we ask members to check their UCU membership details and in particular the CONTACT EMAIL held by UCU National – this is distinct from this mailing list which is a local one only.
The easiest way to do this is to log onto the UCU website site at https://members.ucu.org.uk/ – this allows you to check your details and update them as necessary. If you have forgotten your membership number your options are to contact Rae Beaver on r.e.beaver@uel.ac.uk or UCU London Regional Office on 0207-756-2634. You can also call this number if you do not wish to go through the website and they will be able to confirm your current email address held by UCU.
Please put the dates of key meetings in your diary – the first is a Joint Union meeting with Unison and Unite colleagues to update members on the proposed Performance Management Scheme on Wednesday 20th February in Docklands and Tuesday 26th February in Stratford. The next Branch Meeting will be on 13th March in Docklands however we may call an emergency meeting for members below Grade 58 shortly to discuss the dispute and the workload allocation model – please check regularly for emails.
Regards
Jacqui
UCU Branch Secretary
